Knowing God

Romans 1:20-21 NLT
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.”

God shows us His eternal power and divine nature through creation, by the things that are made. He has given a general revelation that is obvious both in creation and within the minds and hearts of man. Man refused to glorify Him as God. Instead of glorifying God, man transformed our idea of Him into forms and images more comfortable to man’s corrupt nature. Basically reducing God down to make Him manageable in our thinking.

It’s not enough to acknowledge that all created things are created by God, anyone can come to that revelation on their own. We have worship God and give Him our hearts and our lives. We have to honor Him not just as Creator but also as our Father and Lord.

To take a scripture from James, “You believe that
God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and (have enough sense to) shudder.” James 2:19 NASB (emphasis was mine)

Prayer:
Father, I see You everyday in what You have created, but that in itself is not enough. I honor You Father God, I exalt You and praise You as my Redeemer and Lord. You deserve all my praise.
