My Rock, My Salvation, My Defense

Psalms 62:1-2 AMP
“For God alone my soul waits in silence;
From Him comes my salvation. He alone is my Rock and my Salvation, My Defense and my Strong Tower; I will not be shaken  or disheartened.”

David said that he waits on God in silence. Sometimes our silence is good, it means for us peace and serenity. Other times, silence is not so good, it could mean we are down, depressed, and alone with our thoughts. Sometimes it’s our thoughts that get to our hearts, spirits and minds in trouble and we spiral downward.

Whichever David was referring to, he finishes up with that God is his salvation. Being our salvation means God is ready, willing and able to save us from anything, anyone and even from ourselves.

David gives these descriptions of God; He alone is my ROCK and my SALVATION, my DEFENSE and my STRONG TOWER; and because of those attributes David said that he would not be shaken or disheartened.

God is all those things for you and me, and because of His attributes, we cannot be shaken or disheartened. Face it, sometimes it doesn’t take too much to shake us up and it doesn’t take too much for us to be disheartened- (having lost determination or confidence; dispirited.)

Tell your circumstances, your heart and your mind who your God is to you!

Prayer:
Father, you are my Rock, my Defense, my Salvation and my Strong Tower. In good times and tough times, I will trust in You!
