2 Samuel 6:14-15 ESV
“And David danced before the Lord with all his might… So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn.”

Praise and worship has to be passionate! Passionate worship is expressive, it can be words, it can be a song, it can just lifted hands. It can be while you are sitting or standing. It just has to be the central thing on your mind. If you mind is on what you’re going to be doing after church or after your devotion or prayer time then you are not giving God the love and devotion He deserves.

John wrote in the first five verses of John 1 words that were meaningful, expressive, heart felt and direct. I have heard these verses quoted often in messages;

John 1:1-5 ESV. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

John was truly overwhelmed and loved with Jesus and all that He embodied. In John’s description of Jesus, he is not writing words, he is feeling every word.

John writes in 1 John 1:1-2. “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,  which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us.”

Again John’s description of Jesus and all that He experienced with Jesus has overwhelmed him. John’s passion comes out in words. In Relations 1 John falls on his face before Jesus, as he describes, “as a dead man.” John wasn’t in fear, he was overwhelmed at the revelation and the presence of Jesus.

Your praise and worship can be sitting, standing, kneeling, laying prostrate before God or it can be singing, writing, or dancing like David. It just has to passionate worship.

Prayer:
Father, I owe everything to You. I’m in love with You God, not because all You have done for me, but because of who You are. The great Almighty God, my Help, my Deliverer, my strong tower, my Father.
