Even Now

John 11:21-22 ESV
“Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother (Lazarus) would not have died.  But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.”

We can learn a lot from Martha; Even in distress, she confesses confidence in Jesus that He could have healed her brother. But she goes beyond her belief of His power to heal and stretches her faith that EVEN NOW, He was still the Christ, He was still the Son of the Almighty God.

She may not have believed he could raise Lazarus from the dead after four days, but I truly believe she knew He had the power to raise her brother after one day or two days. I believe, she believed that He was still the Messiah, still the chosen one. I believe she believed that He had the power to carry out His mission and meet all her needs.

How often do we get disappointed when a prayer is not answered the way we want it to and we pout, or become angry or indifferent. Then we don’t ask anything for awhile because of doubt or fear that the next prayer will not be answered in accordance to our will. If we are disappointed with the results in a request to God, give Him time, He will reveal why it was not His will but still believe with some “even now” prayers.

Prayer:
Lord, not all our prayers are going to be granted in our will or our time. But “even now” we will keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. Even now we still believe You are our Savior, Victor, Master and that You intercede for us day and night. Even now we know You are the giver of life and You have the power to do anything, nothing is impossible with You. In Your name Lord, Amen!
