Philippians 2:12-13 ESV

“…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,  for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”

Our actions do not earn Salvation, but they should result from our salvation. Paul would never suggest that we have to earn our salvation, and he would never suggest that we have to live in constant anxiety and fear.

Possibly it could be said like this; “I’ve been saved, so now I will work for God and I will work with surety and purpose because my work will be tried by fire to see if my motivations are pure and my heart is in my work for God.” After all, it is God working in me and through me, “both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” In other words, God is working out His will through me.

Prayer:
Father, the work that I do, I pray that it is always done because of my love for you. Let Your will work through me everyday!
