Miracles that Make People Believe

Acts 3:2-7 ESV
“And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms.  And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.”

And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them.  But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”  And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.”

This miracle took place because Peter and John had compassion on the man and in the name of Jesus Christ, the man was healed from not being able to walk. There was no sermon preached, no offering was taken up, not even a prayer was spoken only by mercy this man received strength in his legs and was able to walk again.

The man joined Peter and John in the temple and he was heard praising God. This man may or may not have been a believer before the miracle but his acknowledgment of God after the miracle seems that the man believed in God because of the miracle. Getting the attention of so many men in the temple that day, Peter seized the moment and did preach a sermon of sorts.

Miracles are not just for believers but also to make people believers. Those who hope for a miracle from this world or from someone of this world, are basically hoping for carma or maybe that the universe is going to perform a supernatural phenomenon. Miracles come from God and are for a purpose.

Prayer:
Father, I would love that everyone could receive a miracle. But You have a design and a plan for every miracle. They are not impossible, as a matter of fact, the are very possible, to the believer and the would be believer.
