Faithful is Our God

Deuteronomy 32:3-4 ESV
“For I will proclaim the name of the Lord; ascribe greatness to our God! The Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He.”

Toward the end of Moses life he tied up several loose ends in his ministry, and he followed God’s instructions in setting everything in order. In this portion, God told Moses to write a song, commonly called “The Song of Moses,” and teach it to the people. I like that!

Moses had written a few songs, but this particular song, God told Moses to teach it to the people. Then later God commands that the people learn the song and sing it. Why? Well, God being God has already lived the future, as I have said before, He knows exactly to the detail what is going to happen.

As it turns out, the song is both blessing and judgment because He already knows that the generation that will cross into the promised land in time will rebel and start worshiping other gods and God will have to judge His people and bring them back again and again.

It’s a long song, but Moses wrote it all down and gave it to Joshua to have on hand so when the rebellion would come, he could pull out the song and sing it. God knows our heart now and in the future, He has already lived it.

So my song this morning is, God is faithful, there is non like Him. He is, “The Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He.”

Prayer:
Father, whether now or in thirty years, let me be found faithful to You!
