2 Peter 1:5-8 ESV

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness… for this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith…with self-control…”

“Self-Control; the ability to control oneself, in particular with one’s emotions and desires or the expression of them in one’s behavior, especially in difficult situations.” Self-control is a character trait that affects so many aspects of our life – the words we speak, the way we express frustration and anger. The incredible thing about self-control is that when we improve it in one area it spreads to other areas.

Prayer:
Father, I know that self-control as a Christian is not an option. From the words I speak to my actions and attitudes, I owe it to you to control my thoughts, feelings and emotions.
