John 15:5 ESV

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

What does it mean to abide in Jesus? To abide in Jesus means that we have accepted Him as Lord and Savior and we do whatever He wants us to do. It means that we believe that He came from the Father as a gift of love from the Father.

God loved us so much that even when we were still sinning, apart from God, doing our worldly deeds, ignoring the fact that we were a part of His love creation, He still sent His Son to teach us a better way, then He suffered and died for our sins so that we could be a part of His family forever.

At that point of repentance and acceptance, we become a part of The Vine, we abide in Him. To abide in Him means we bear fruit, we produce love, acts of kindness, we act like the Kings kids. Things we could not do apart from Him!

Father, thank you for coming into my life, for changing me from the inside out. Thank you for The Vine, Your Son, for without Him I couldn’t do anything of value!
