Exodus 14:14 ESV
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

In Exodus, when Moses is leading the Isrealites out of Egypt there is that famous stand off as they reach the Red Sea. With the Egyptians behind them, and the water stretch out before them, many of the Israelites argue if they should give up, or hand themselves over to the enemy. They became rash, feeling desperate, alone, they are so scared they are ready to give up. “Moses answered the people…the Egyptians you see today you will never see again.  The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Be still means stop trying to rationalize everything, stop trying to figure out things on your own, trust God, depend on Him completely, let Him amaze you! Have you been to the point where you were feeling desperate, alone, scared, ready to give up? At that point and every other point in your life, stand still, trust God, He will fight for you.

Prayer:
Father, I’ve been scared, desperate, ready to give up more times than I care to admit, teach me to be still and give the battle to You!
