Psalms 95:1-2 ESV
“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!”

I believe what God wants from us, His children, is not pomp and circumstance or a pretense of worship. What He desires, according to His word is worship from our Spirits, the very core of who we are. It can be in song, it can be a joyful noise, if it is true worship, He loves it.

Sometimes David the King would sing to Him, sometimes he played for Him on his harp or lyre, sometimes He danced in the Spirit because he felt such an overwhelming presence of God.

So when we set out to praise and worship God, let it rise from our Spirits. There God will be honored! He is not looking for an eloquent voice necessarily, but what He is looking for is true worship, just like a dirty, smelly young shephard boy would do when he sat in a field and would make up songs and tunes and give God his all. It does not have to be perfect, it just has to be out of love and admiration.

Prayer:
Father, I long for your presence, just as if You were the only one with me in the room. I bring you a sacrifice of praise from the depths of my Spirit.
