Teach Me Your Ways Lord

Psalms 25:4-5 ESV
“Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.”

We could stop all the confusion in the Christian churches around the globe, if we really did get to know the ways of God. I heard someone say one day that they had heard everything about God, nothing was knew any more. I didn’t, but I wanted him to sit down and tell me everything about God. I’ve read the Bible for 54 years and I’ve studied the Bible for 46 years and I still have not scratched the surface of who God is.

Paul told Timothy to “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Timothy 2:15 NKJV) Study, be diligent (dig in deep) and know exactly how to read and teach the Bible.

God also said; “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
(Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV)

Can we ever really know everything and not need to be taught anymore? A resounding NO is the answer. But I would love to sit in God’s classroom and get everything I can before I leave this life.

Prayer:
Lord, “make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation.” I’m ignorant of Your ways O Lord, I need wisdom. Knowledge and understanding of You, and Your ways and Your word!
