1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you,  casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”

The apostle Peter was a married young man when he met Jesus. Humility was not part of Peter’s character in his earlier days, He was outspoken and impetuous. But in three and a half years of being with Jesus, that can change a man.

At the end of Jesus’s ministry, Peter denied Jesus at a pinnacle point, and that crushed Peter. Jesus came to Peter at the sea of Tiberius after His resurrection and reconciled Peter. Forty days after that, Peter stood up, full of the Holy Spirit and preached an amazing sermon.

That first sermon brought thousands to Jesus. When Peter writes; Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you,” he knows what he is talking about! That’s why it is so easy for him to add, “casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” This is words that you can count on because Peter not only wrote them, he lived them!

Prayer:
Father, I give my life into your hands and humble myself and wait for you to exalt me in Your time. I cast my cares on You Father because O know you love me and care for me.
