Trust God Not Happinchance

Ecclesiastes 9:11 ESV
“I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance.  happen to them all.”

Solomon was partly right: the fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, things happen on the track and to the body. The battle is not always won by the strongest, take a look at David verses Goliath, of course God was in that victory.

Bread or wealth does not always come to the wise and intelligent. It is a general rule that intelligent people usually can figure out how to make good money. We equate intelligence as having good sense, but we all know that is not true.

Even the intelligent can make poor decisions. I will not start naming them, but we have quite a few past presidents that have made some serious blunders.

Things do happen to those who seem to excel, but I don’t think luck has anything to do with it, as Solomon proposed. We, who know and trust God, trust that our future and successes are in His hands.

Prayer:
Father, I cannot presume that this life will always be fair. No matter what qualities we are born with, our failures and successes are in Your hands. When we fail, You pick us up and we learn why we fell. When we have good success, it is not good luck, it is Your blessings.
