Unwholesome Words We Speak

Efficiency 4:29 AMP
“Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak].”

I know none of us would be accused of speaking profane words. But how about words that are useless, demeaning and harmful to ourselves and others that may over hear our conversations?

I heard a Christian the other day say something in jest, and it wasn’t towards me, it was towards themselves. Ever since I heard those words I have been rebuking those words and casting down even the imagination that brought those words about.

I’m sure they thought it was amusing and they have not thought any more about those words. The problem is, those words can set in order a course of action that the evil one can run with and put doubt, confusion and division into their life. We have to think about what we say, think about where those words came from, our heart!

“…For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34 NKJV)

I know I probably have covered this subject a hundred times, but it is vital to get a handle on our words. Useless, demeaning, or words of jest to be funny can set on fire a course of action in our lives and the lives of those who hear our words. Stop satan in his tracks, don’t give him fuel for the fire, don’t give him any ideas, he has enough on his own.

Use words that build us up, give us meaning and real life and words that can turn things around for us and others. If we want to be a better person, a whole and healed person, if we want victory in our home, marriage and family, speak life into those things, positivity, power and healing into those things.

Prayer:
Father, I am Your child, I belong to You, I’m healed, whole, prosperous, I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath the garbage of life. My wife, children, grandchildren are a blessing from You, and they will be a blessing to their families and friends. My friends and loved ones are a gift from You and they too will be a blessing to their families, homes, jobs, schools and careers.
