Romans 8:26-27 NLT

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.  And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.”

This past week was a week of prayng. The needs were from people needing understanding to people needing immediate healing. Sometimes it was so daunting, it was hard to be specific in prayer. After all I want to pray the right prayers for the right needs.

Everyone’s needs are specific so I want to be specific in my prayers. Praying for the heart of people’s desires is important to me. When I just seem to come up short, this passage comes to my mind: “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for…the Holy Spirit prays for us…”

I can always count on the Holy Spirit to pray specifically and for the exact things that people need. The pressure is not on me to always pray the right prayers, I just need to pray with heart and understanding. The gift of God is the Holy Spirit to speak exactly the right things.

As I felt inadequate because maybe I did not cover a situation in prayer with enough zeal the Holy Spirit stepped in and said, “wait on me, I’ve got this.”

Prayer:
Father, I know my pleasure is to bring the needs of friends and family to You. You always hear, you always answer. Sometimes I don’t know all the good words to use in prayer but my heart is there, that’s when I trust and rely on Your Holy Spirit to pray through me.
