Psalms 139: 23-24 ESV

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”

Some would say it’s a scary thing to ask God to search our hearts and minds. But to be honest, He does search our hearts and minds every day! David wanted God to search him out and make sure there was nothing in him that was offensive, nothing that would separate him from God. David had a checkered past, but he still had a heart for God and listened to God daily. No matter our struggles, if we will put God first. Be honest with God, and leave everything open for God to deal with our shortcomings, we will find the excellent way!
