Sharper than a Two Edged Sword

Hebrews 4:12 AMP
“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

I cannot say enough of the power of God’s Words. His Words give us life purpose and meaning. His Words reveal who He is as well as the Son and the Holy Spirit, about Their work, Their personalities and Their missions.

It also reveals truths about the world, life, peace, purpose and how we can succeed. A summary of this passage is; God’s Words penetrates our spirits. God’s Words penetrates our bodies right down into the marrow of our bones.

His Words cuts deep into our minds and enters the depths of our Spiritual hearts. His Words judges not just our thoughts but also our very motives, attitudes, and intentions.

Do we really wonder why most people do not read the Words of God more? Because we don’t want it to control every aspect of our lives, we want that control for ourselves.

Prayer:
Father God, please forgive me of my insolence. Your Words tells me everything I need to know but I still do not consume Your Words near enough as I should to find true life and meaning!
