Blessings of the Righteous

Psalms 37:16-17 ESV
“Better is the little that the righteous has than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.”

People in this world are striving, fighting, scratching and clawing trying to get enough, but it will never be enough if they do not have the Lord. They asked Rockefeller one time when he was going to be satisfied with all his riches, He replied, “I need just a little bit more.” He died before he got that little bit more.

We may not be rich in dollars, but God will supply our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19) if we trust in Him to provide. David said that the arms of the wicked shall be broken, I know this sounds harsh, but it is a reference that they will not be able to get what they are seeking.

Then David says, “…but the Lord upholds the righteous.” When God says that He will uphold us, it means that He will support us and keep us from slipping back or falling.

This promise is mentioned in Isaiah 41:10, where God says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Prayer:
Father, we fully understand Your conditions for receiving, we have to be following, listening, praying, believing in You. We have to be trusting in You relying on You, then we can expect to receive what comes from Your hands of love and mercy. We accept Your conditions, we hear, and we obey, Amen!
