He Is My Peace

Ephesians 2:17 ESV
“And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.”

Peace is something that almost everybody is looking for. We need peace in our home, peace on our jobs, peace in America, peace in the world, but especially peace of mind. Unfortunately we’ve been seeking peace in the world since the world began. It seems almost impossible to bring peace to the world, because people have different ideals different values, different morals different standards.

As long as we’re a society of free thinkers we will never truly have peace with one another. We can have peace within our own minds, hearts and spirits though. That kind of peace is obtained through Jesus.

How do we get that peace? By casting all of our thoughts, fears, troubles and anxieties on Jesus. He said Himself, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

Peter said in 1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” How we keep our cares and anxieties is by keeping them fresh in our thought processes. We can’t give them away if we keep rehashing the problems over and over.

Give the problems, cares troubles and anxieties to Jesus, we’ve tried it on our own and we have failed. Now let Him work His power on those cares and troubles. If we truly give them to Him and stop rehashing them, we will get peace in return.

Prayer:
Father, I cast all my cares in You. I’ve tried to work them out, tried to sweep them under the rug, tried to ignore them, it hasn’t worked. So I am casting my cares on You, letting You take the lead, I will follow.
