God is Our Only Hope

2 Chronicles 7:14 Message
“And my people, my God-defined people, respond by humbling themselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives, I’ll be there ready for you: I’ll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health.”

Understand, this message from God was specifically for Israel and their specific land, that He graciously gave them. They were in trouble, they had lost their way and they forgot who they were, God’s people.

Today, we are going to borrow the concept of this passage because we are God’s people. We may not live in Israel’s chosen land, the promised land, but we live in a land our forefathers sought out to escape religious tyranny. A land they found where they could live and worship God freely. A land they called, “one nation under God indivisible (unable to be divided or seperated).”

Now, we need God more than ever. Our nation is seperated, we are divided, we are in trouble. So, let’s humble ourselves and pray, like it all depends on God, because He is our only hope. Turn away from all that is even remotely evil, and seek God’s presence with all our heart. I believe God will hear us, forgive us for losing our way as a nation, and He will heal those that belong to Him and reunite us.

Prayer:
Father, forgive our arrogance, forgive us for losing our way. Come Father, we cry for Your presence back in America. Heal us, restore us, make us one in You!
