Psalms 19:12-13 NKJV

“Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression.”

David after singing of the greatness of God’s words had a glimpse of his own sinfulness. He asks forgiveness of secret sins, those sins we hope no one will ever know about, and sins that are deliberate, willful, and arrogant, sins that we do even though we know they seperate us from God. Finishing off his prayer, David asks that those sins would no longer master him, no longer control him. He wants to feel good about himself again and be acceptable in God’s eyes.
