Participation in the Nature of God

2 Peter 1:4
“And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”

Because Jesus paid the price, paved the way, released us from death, brought us into true meaning and life, we are now able to receive His promises. To start off with, He has enabled us to share in His divine nature. To share in Jesus’s divine nature, we do not walk as mere men and women of the world.

We now walk forgiven, set apart, redeemed by His blood, empowered and restored back to the place where God created man in His image. We walk in His strength, guided by His Spirit, we have wisdom, knowledge and understanding to know who we are in Christ.

We see ourselves in the mirror and we make a determination of who we are based on what we see and what we remember of our past. That is wrong, we are a new creation, the old is gone, the person that we now see is brand new, Spiritual equipped child of God with all rights and privileges.

And furthermore, we have the power to escape the world’s corrupted thoughts and actions. We are winners, we are God’s children, we disdain all the evil, and cling to what is good in Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Lord, lead me beside still waters, restore my soul, walk with me through the valleys, give me the ability to walk with You in Your nature and escape the world’s corruption. In Your name Lord Jesus I ask, Amen!
