Tuesday
Keeping Our Conduct Pure

1 Peter 2:12 AMP
“Keep your behavior excellent among the [unsaved] Gentiles [conduct yourself honorably, with graciousness and integrity], so that for whatever reason they may slander you as evildoers, yet by observing your good deeds they may [instead come to] glorify God in the day of visitation [when He looks upon them with mercy].”just

Sunday, we read in our devotion that Jesus and Paul have commanded us to pray and bless those who persecute us. This command is different, this command is that our behavior should always be honorable, upright, and we should have good behavior at all times. We have no idea who is watching us, who has heard our testimony, or who knows of our reputation.

We want all men and women, boys and girls, to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior, so as we used to sing in Sunday School, “this little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine…”

In my early twenties I worked for Pepsi Cola Co when construction died in the early 80’s. As a salesman for a year of that stent, we had what they called silent salesmen known as POS (point of sale) cards, and shelf advertisement that we would leave on the shelves and get people’s attention to buy our product.

Our character, our reputation and integrity are our POS, so to speak. Those messages linger long after we are gone. They speak volumes of who we are and were and who we represented.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, it is for Your glory and honor that we live the life we live in Your name. Bring souls by the thousands to You because of our character and witness. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
