People the World Don’t Deserve

Hebrews 11:33-34, 37-38 ESV
“(Men and women of faith) who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises… were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.

They were stoned…they were killed with the sword. They went…destitute, afflicted, mistreated…of whom the world was not worthy…”

All of the heroes of faith were more than this world deserves, but they, like us, were here for a divine purpose. The Apostle are not mentioned by name but most suffered excruciating deaths for the cause of Christ.

The Apostles thought so much of the Lord Jesus Christ that they would go to extreme lengths to tell the world about the Messiah. The Apostles were martyred for their faith and love for Jesus Christ.

We have not seen these kind of senseless murders in our lifetime but they still happen in other countries. In the US we are being persecuted for our faith but it is happening so subtly that most cannot see it. Prayer was removed school, then the Bible, then the ten commandments from the court houses, then any public display of Christianity.

Christianity in America is considered an intolerant religion because we will not give credence to any other religion. That is because some other religions do not hold God as the Supreme Being and Jesus Christ as the only way to get to heaven and the only way to be in right relationship with God.

The reason that the US still tolerates Christians is because we have learned to blend in, be part of the crowd and not talk openly about God or Jesus or our relationship with Jesus Christ. That has to change before the world takes more of our rights away from us as Children of God.

No this is not our home but we are here for a purpose, a divine reason. We may not want to cause a stir or a riff, but the Apostles thought so much of the Lord Jesus Christ that they would go to extreme lengths to tell the world about the Messiah.

Prayer:
Lord, use me in the way that brings you the most honor and glory. Help me to forget about comfort and selfpreservation and use my gifts for Your glory. Help me to let my light shine.
