From Weak to Strong

2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

It’s hard for some to agree that they have weaknesses, but we do, but we don’t have to remain weak. When we allow Jesus to take our weaknesses, we become strong. In this passage, Paul had a thorn in the flesh that he wanted Jesus to remove. Instead Jesus told him, that His power was made perfect in Paul’s weakness.

The Lord’s strength is made perfect in weakness. He delights in taking situations where human strength is lacking to demonstrate the greatness of His power. Paul stopped protesting his situation and began to boast and even take pleasure in his weakness so that the power of Christ could work through him.

That is a huge hint for us, we need to give our weakness to Jesus so through Him we become strong. Habakkuk 3:19 says, “God, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer’s; He makes me tread on my high places.”

Our high places are places of safety. He gives us strength to run our race, to run right over difficulties and troubles when we trust in Him.

Prayer:
Lord, take our weakness and give us Your strength and power. Give us the strength and ability to run our race for You. It’s not about our abilities Lord, it’s about how much we become less and You become more in us and through us.
