Happy and Joyful Resurrection Morning

Mark 16:1-7 NLT
“Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. On the way they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside.

When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as He told you before He died”

Happy Resurrection morning! Because He lives, we live also. We didn’t earn life and life eternal; we didn’t have to work for it, beg for it, we just received it because of the grace and mercy of God.

Our hope is assured! When we believed on Him, His sacrifice paid our ransom. We are now children of God and joint heirs with Christ because of His sacrifice and His resurrection. We have been born of the Spirit of Christ Jesus that lives within us.

I love the last remark that Mark wrote in verse 7 where it says, “Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see Him there, JUST AS HE TOLD YOU BEFORE HE DIED.” Basically “go and tell His disciples that what He said actually happened, and oh yes, make a point of telling Peter as well. You do know He told you that this was going to happen, right?

Sometimes we have to be reminded of what He said, for some reason we forget, or we just need the words refreshed in our hearing. Jesus is exactly who He said He was. We are bought back with a price, redeemed, forgiven and we have been given a new life and a refreshed hope!

Prayer:
Father, thank you for Your amazing power to raise up the dead, only You give life, only You raise the dead. Thank you for sealing our victory by raising Your Son from the dead and giving us living hope and peace and eternal life through Him . Let us never forget the love and sacrifice of our Lord and Savior. Let us never forget the victory He obtained when He rose from the grave, conquering over death, hell and the grave. Teach us tell everyone of Your love, mercy and victory, in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
