Passion Week Day 2

Luke 19:45-46 ESV
“And He (Jesus) entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, saying to them,  “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”

The day after the triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Jesus returned with his disciples to Jerusalem. When Jesus arrived at the Temple, he found the courts full of corrupt money changers. He began overturning their tables and clearing the Temple, saying. “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves” (Luke 19:46).

What this means is that a temple or church is a holy place. It is a place for all mankind to connect to God. If it is used for any other platform it becomes a common place and not a house of God.

The world needs to see that the House of God is a sacred place to seek God, to hear from God to connect to God. To have people dealing with goods for money in the House of God is a sin against God.

The house of God is a place of refuge and peace. It should be a place where we feel accepted by God. If man turns the House of God to anything else especially for greed, profit and or contention it is a sin against God.

Prayer:
Jesus, if You came into the church’s of America, what would You find? Would You have to cleanse our places of worship. Cleanse the church’s now Lord, and clear out the greed and contention. Make every House of God a place of prayer and peace, a refuge where we meet with You!
