Making Plans

Proverbs 19:21 NIV

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

Simply put, we can make plans all day and all night, but God has a perfect will for our lives the leads us to true joy and peace. God is not trying to make life difficult, He provides a way through it in peace. Life itself seems to make difficulties for us. Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation, but take heart I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). James 4:14-15 says, “…yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” 

The most excellent way is the Lord’s way. We can make plans, goals and have dreams, that is being prudent, but in those plans, goals, and dreams we say, “Your perfect will be done in us and through us Lord.

Prayer:

Lord, I have plans, goals and dreams, even as an older man now I still believe I have much to accomplish. Unlike my younger years where I thought I could conquer all, I realize if I would have allowed You to have Your way in my life, I could have been so much further along. Nonetheless, it is not too late, so I say; Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven in my life, and in Crystal’s life, in our families lives and in our extended families (friends) lives. In Your name Lord Jesus, amen!
