I Will Help You

Isaiah 41:10 ESV

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Not only can God help us, but He will help us. We often want God to do things a certain way because it fits a perfect scenario of our ideals. We work things out in our minds, and we feel like this would be perfect. Well sometimes it does work out and sometimes God does things completely opposite of the way we would do things.

I have lived with my own expectations for a long time, but one thing I know to be certain, God has a perfect will and a perfect way that will bring Him glory. He doesn’t do things opposite of the way that I want them to frustrate me, He does things His way because it is the most excellent way. At times I pray for healing, but He is trying to provide a resurrection. At times I pray for strength, and He shows me dependence on Him is my strength. So, I have learned to ask Him, and just wait and see what He does, because His way is perfect. I’m often surprised by His methods, but I’m never disappointed, in the long run I understand His methods.

Prayer:

Lord, our dependency is on You. You know the best way to handle things, but still, You tell us to ask of You what we desire, and what we need. So, this morning we ask, but If we ask in our way, just remember, we really want Your way. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
