Predestined

Ephesians 1:4-5 ESV

“Even as He (Jesus) chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will…”

There is a school of thought that believes God created the universe and then left it to run according to its own laws, and powers, that is called Deism. It’s a belief system that emphasizes reason and natural laws over revelation or divine intervention. In other words, they believe that God created us and then stood back and just watched what would happen. That is ludicrous!

Deism could not be further from the truth. Paul says that we were chosen before the foundation of the world. God chose us to bear His Son’s name. God chose us to bring Him glory and honor through our lives, words, deeds and actions. Since he did this in love, He brings with this predestination blessings, peace, assurance, love, and honor. We have been chosen to spread the Gospel, to reach hearts and lives for Jesus. 

Through this predestination He already knew that you and I were going to be His children of promise, the apple of His eye, His pride and joy that we can and will be blessed forever in His divine favor. That we have a purpose, and He will work that purpose within us through the rest of our lives, because He cares and He wants us to succeed .

Lord, thank You for choosing us. Thank You for placing Your name on our hearts. We bear witness of Your blessings and peace. In Your name Lord Jesus, we glorify You, Amen!
