Matthew 6:34 ESV
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Jesus tells His followers not to worry about tomorrow, do not worry about things that have not happened as yet. Today needs our attention to navigate things that occur today. The basic message is, worry, and anxieties don’t fix anything. Anxiety over things we cannot control is self destructive, it attacks the mind and effects our bodies.
Tomorrow’s fight will happen tomorrow. Take one day at a time. Today has its own set of challenges. Live for today. Jesus is not saying we cannot or should not make wise plans, of course we should have dreams, plans, and goals for the future, But worrying about those things doesn’t help the situation, but giving it to God and allowing Him to remove the obstacles will bring peace.
Lord, we ask that today, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth today, in our lives today, as Your will is being carried out in heaven. Teach us to lean on You! In Your name Lord, Amen!
