Joshua 1:9 ESV
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Things happen in this life. Some are suspicious and we are looking for the next thing that will come around the corner and disrupt our world. Some get blindsided by things and it rocks them back on their heels and they wonder when the bad things are going to stop. Some just let things happen as they will and they will deal with it with God’s help, they understand life and circumstances and deal with troubles as they come.
God told Joshua, be strong and courageous several times in Joshua 1. It makes me believe that Joshua was in the camp that was of a suspicious nature looking for the next trouble to come around the corner. God said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua completed His mission and he did great things with God’s power in him.
It makes me think if we follow these same commands for our lives, and the lives of our family. That we will have the same outcome; we will do mighty things for God, if we let God have His way.
Prayer:
Lord, help us to trust You with every fiber of our being. Trusting You for our families, our very lives, our homes, careers and finances. Teach us to trust You with our children and grandchildren, our friends, loved ones and neighbors. Lord teach us to be very strong and very courageous. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
