More Than Enough
Romans 15:13 ESV
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
It’s Monday, and Mondays are often days that are a reality check. The weekend is over, and the free time is gone. Things now have to be taken care of and we have a list of things that need to be accomplished.
I’ve made a discovery about myself. I don’t have to fear a day or necessarily look forward to certain days. Each day is what I make it. I can dread a day or I can put all my hopes in a day, or I can allow God to produce in me hope for each day. Trust in God!
Paul says that he prayed for his readers to be filled completely with joy and peace, that is overflowing joy and peace. Enough joy that you could give some away to others. Enough peace to settle any matter that may come up in your day, and an abundance more left over for someone else. Because Paul said after all of this joy and peace, he wanted his readers to overflow, that is spill over with confident hope for any situation, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Personal application: The joy and peace is there for the taking, but it requires for us to take it.
Prayer:
Lord, this morning we receive all that You have for us. We receive all the joy and peace that we will need today. Holy Spirit, overflow in us confident hope that this will be the day that God does great things in our lives. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
