Working for Jesus

1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

I’ve served in the church since I was nineteen years old. It is always a blessing to serve the Lord. Sometimes there were days when it was nerve racking, sometimes there were conflicts, sometimes there were problems, but I knew that I was working for the Lord, so I never regretted serving the Lord. God is awake 24-7 keeping up with me and my life, and putting up with my attitudes and He is never disgruntled about it, disappointed sometimes, but never disgruntled. I cannot imagine doing anything else but serving Him in the ways that He wants me to serve.

If it ever feels like you have run out of steam to keep working for Jesus, don’t give up, keep moving forward. Paul said in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap (untold blessing), if we do not give up.” I promise there are rewards along the way for serving. I promise the rewards of heaven will be worth all that we endure. Our labor is not in vain. Keep working for Jesus!

Prayer:

Lord, strengthen us for the task. Encourage us, build us up, make us unshakable in Your service. Help us to keep our eyes on the goal, on the prize that You have set before us. We serve You Lord. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
