Perceiving

John 12:45-46 ESV

“And whoever sees Me sees Him who sent Me.”

In this passage, Jesus is coming to the point where He knows that He will be arrested, tortured and give up His life for our ransom. He has spoken the truth to all who would hear, but now He is on a quest to glorify God. Seeing Jesus in this passage has little to do with physically seeing Him and much to do with understanding who He is, His mission and His relationship with God the Father.

We see things every day, but we miss the intent or meaning of much of it. Seeing with the physical eye is just a portion of our intake of knowledge of things. Seeing with our spiritual eyes is the foundation of our belief system and how we use the knowledge to adjust our lives and move with meaning and purpose.

Seeing Jesus for who He is, and knowing where He came from and what His mission is, is the key to life. To see what Jesus is saying to us with His words, is life, health and healing. His words sustain us, His words give us life, His words enrich us, His words are the truth that we are seeking for every aspect of our lives.

Prayer:

Lord, whatever we see today in the Spirit, let that grow within us. Whatever we see today by Your words, let those truths enhance our hearts and minds and enrich our lives and change us from the inside out. In Your name Jesus, let us see You today, Amen!
