Never Alone

Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV
“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

I take care of the air conditioners at a senior living apartment complex, in the apartments and common areas. If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a thousand times, what the elderly fear most is being left alone. They are afraid of falling and no one will discover them for days. Some of the residents have worked out a buddy system where they check on the ones they associate with. But there are hundreds that do not have those kind of friendships.

We can never forget to care about people, not just the elderly. We have to remind people that we love them and God loves them and He will never leave them alone. In this passage, Moses is reminding the next generation of Israelites, don’t be like your parents and grandparents who were, selfish, stiffnecked and stubborn.

Understand as you go in to possess this new land, you will never be alone. Today, God is with you. You just have to love Him deeply and He will go before you and protect you, if you will just come into a right relationship with Him.

I need to tell you, you have the Holy Spirit in you, the Lord by your side, and God goes before you, leveling out the battlefield. If that were not enough, angels are all around you. You’re in good company!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for caring so much, for loving so much, for watching over us 24/7. Thank You that we are never alone! In Your name Lord, Amen!
