Ephesians 4: 23-24 ESV
“and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,  and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”

Our old nature is not pleasing or acceptable to God. Our sinful nature He fixed that through His Son, now we have been made acceptable. When we accepted Christ, we died when He died and when He arose from the dead, we came alive through Him in His likeness and His holiness. We are a new creation, every day renewed in the Spirit of our mind.
