Walk In Wisdom

Colossians 4:5-6 ESV
“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.  Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

Walking in wisdom with those who do not believe as we do, does need precautions;

1) If we were weak in our faith we could get pulled back into the world.

2) Not everyone is receptive to the Gospel. So learn to offer a testimony, offer the gospel with grace but do not press anyone to receive. Some plant, some water but God gives the increase. (1 Corinthians 3:6)

3) We cannot force people to receive the gospel, so first impressions are everything.

This works into the next phrase in this verse; “Making the best use of our time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

Everyone is different, not everyone will receive the Gospel the same way. The way we present the Gospel, our attitude, our words could either hinder someone from receiving or if our words are well thought out, directed by the Holy Spirit, and scriptural, we will plant the seed.

Prayer:
Lord, guide me in this world to know how to treat people in this world, to test the spirits, to see if there is an opening for a witness, or even, at times, if I should hold my witness and just show good character.
