Romans 8:5 ESV

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.”

Living according to the flesh means gratifying what the flesh wants, doing what pleases the body. To set our minds on the things of the flesh means that we are giving the flesh full control of our life. We will be guided by the flesh, but to those who live according to the spirit of God, set their minds to obey the Spirit of God and seek what His will and desire is for our life. We have the control to do either one: live according to the flesh or live according to the Spirit.
