Lead by Example

Colossians 4:5-6 ESV
“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

We have to use our heads as we live and work among those who are Christians and those who are not Christians. They may act badly, but we have to be above board, fluent in our speech, gracious in our walk. Sharp, alert, in tune, all the things we may not experience with those who are not Christians. Able to listen, a skill that is missing with so many including many in the church.

Make the most of every opportunity, always make every occasion an important memory in our eyes and the eyes of the beholder. Bring out the best in others, show them we care, and that they are important. Consider most new meetings with a person is not just chance. It is a divine appointment. Jesus never met a stranger.

Prayer:
Lord, let me see people through Your eyes. Let me see past the pretense and the guarded nature and see inside their heart through their words, actions and deeds. Let me be a light, a beacon, a lighthouse to the lost and wayward.
