Ezekiel 11: 16 ESV

“Thus says the Lord God:  ‘”…I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.”‘

In this passage, God told Israel even though He had scattered them among the nations because of their sins he was a sanctuary to them while they were in those foreign lands.

We too are in a foreign land, this is not our home, as a matter of fact we are aliens on this planet just look at the persecution of the churches in California. Our home will be in heaven with God forever. But for the time being, He will be a sanctuary to us until we get back to Him in heaven.
