Explaining the Scriptures

Luke 24:25-27 ESV

“And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.”

Was this just a random occurrence after Jesus’s reservation? I don’t think so. I believe that Jesus had a plan with the testimony of these two men. I believe they were going to go back to the Apostles and reveal to them all the revelations that Jesus shared with these two men.

Think about it, the Apostles were stuck after the resurrection. They needed a better understanding about the last three and a half years and all that Jesus had taught them. This revelation was a confirmation, a revelation, a fresh perspective from the Lord, through these two men. This stories significance? It is huge!

Prayer:

Lord, what You did that day for these two men, to give them understanding of Your mission was amazing. We believe you do the same for us when we read Your words to understand. Too often we just read Your words. Now, I ask that You open up our understanding to Your words. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
