The Lord is With You
Joshua 1:9 ESV
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
This was a directive that the Lord gave Joshua as he was assuming command over the Israelites after Moses’s death. God was encouraging Joshua and infusing him with confidence that God would be there to lead, guide and direct his life and that God would be the one to carry out the good work through Joshua.
This morning, take this scripture to heart for you. Be strong and courageous, even if you do not feel strong and courageous because God is the one giving you the power to overcome and be strong. Do not be frightened by what you see or hear. To not get struck with such fear that you become a recluse to escape what you think is out to harm you. Keep moving, keep working for the Lord. Most of all remember that you are never alone, God will be with you wherever you go and whatever you do.
Prayer:
Lord, our trust is in You. You have strengthened us and given us dominion and power over all that we face today. Our eyes are not on the circumstances, our eyes, hearts and ears are attentive to You. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
