Happy Mother’s Day
Proverbs 22:6 NIV
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Trusting the process isn’t always easy. As parents we often wonder if we did everything right. Did we love enough, and did we discipline enough? Did we discipline too much? Did we direct our children enough in the ways of the Lord? Did we show mercy and grace, or did we direct our children in the most excellent way?
Even if you are not a parent, see how you were raised, how did this scripture come into play in your lives? Even if our parents were not perfect, were their intentions in the right place? Are we serving God like they wanted us to? Or, have we surpassed their expectations? Did we run our race with confidence? Did we persevere in life or persevere in the struggles of life? Did we walk with the Lord ever so closely as to bring honor to the Lord?
Prayer:
Lord, our prayer this morning is not just for every mother, but also for every child. I pray that we surpassed the expectations of our parents. That we have become better children, maybe even better parents, and of course, that we have become better children in Your eyes Lord Jesus. Let the next generation rise and praise You Lord. Let this next generation excel at being children of the most high God. Honor every mother. Hear their hearts and prayers. Walk with them today and every day. From me Lord, thank you for a mother that taught me the ways of the Lord. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
