More Than Enough

Genesis 17:1 ESV
“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.”

The Hebrew word for God Almighty is El Shaddai – the God who is more than enough – more than sufficient. It means that He has the power to complete promises of blessings and prosperity.

Everything God does is over the top, more than enough, a surplus, super-abundant, overflowing, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over!

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 says,
“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God.”

Can You imagine if the United States, as a nation, got together as one and obeyed this passage? Nothing would ever be able to stop us. We may not be able to get this nation on board with peace and prosperity, but what about you and Your family?

I love the Idea that God is El Shaddai, a God of more than enough. Not just material blessings, I’ll take wisdom, knowledge, understanding, peace that passes all understanding, joy, full joy. I’ll take blessings that will overtake me, blessings that will hunt me down and God will lavish His blessings on me.

Prayer:
Lord God Almighty, El Shaddai, help me to walk before You blameless. Make a covenant between me and You that I will be honored as Your child. Thank You for the promises of Your word, Amen!
