Sharing

1 Peter 3:15
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…”

In my early twenties, I saw this scripture as a point that I needed to prepare myself just in case someone asked me about my faith. I wanted to be prepared how to tell them why I believe the way I believe, but it was a bit intimidating to me.

Other religions have almost a scripted rhetoric why they believe the way they believe and they can spout it off at will. But now I don’t wait around seeing if someone will ask me about my beliefs, I’m ready, willing, and well able to share my faith, because it is the only way to the Father, through Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the only way to heaven. Jesus lived and died and rose again and now lives through us who believe, Jesus is the only Deity that can say that. He is the Prince of peace, the only one that can give us lasting peace in a fallen world. He gives me hope, and assurance that I am His and He is mine, on the promises of His words He will never leave me or forsake me.

I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit, a gift that is a deposit that says God is with me and one day I will be with Him face to face for eternity. His words in the Bible bring me peace, joy, fulfillment, instructions for daily living and gives me all the answers that I need for life on earth and life in Jesus Christ. His words also teach me how to love and accept people and offer them hope. I have complete contentment in Jesus, He is everything to me.

These are just a few reasons, add your own, and don’t just be prepared, be active with your faith in Jesus. Tell someone about what He has done for you, show someone Jesus by the life that you live. If you know someone is worried, afraid, hopeless, or just barely making it through life, that is your opportunity to share Jesus with them.

Prayer:
Lord, we do not want to walk around hoping someone will ask us about our faith, help us to be free to share our faith. We have the hope that others need, we have the answers that others are looking for open up doors for us to extend our faith to someone else. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
