Psalms 78:4-7 ESV

“Tell…the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done… that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments…”

We are in trouble in America, the next generation has been raised up without a proper foundation in God. In the quest to appear as friends to our children and grandchildren we have held back on teaching them about the benefits of serving God.

This next generation has been taught to depend on self. Knowing God, attending church, reading the Bible and prayer have been pushed aside because parents and grandparents have been afraid to teach that serving God is beneficial for life.

It’s not popular in society and as a matter of fact it has been said that serving only God is offensive. I cannot find anywhere in God’s word that I am my children’s and grandchildren’s friend, I’m their parent and grandparent. My duty to look after them is to be sure they know God. To tell of God’s marvelous deeds. To tell them the blessings in serving God.

Statistics say that 50-60 percent of our children who go to college, come out not believing in God. That means they will live life like this life is all we have, there is no after life. My duty, responsibility, blessing, is to let my children and grandchildren that there is an eternity with God.

How do I know that? The Bible tells me so! The Bible is the most accurate book of prophecy of all times. I can believe in God’s word! I can trust in God’s word. My quest is to keep the Bible alive in this generation and in the next generation. So they will know the blessings of knowing God and the curse of rejecting God.

Prayer:
Father, hold me accountable to keeping your word alive and in front of this generation and the next generation so they will know the mighty works of God!
