It Will All work Out

Romans 8:28 ESV
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

A basketball player and his friend were heading on a mission trip to Uganda. The flight coming into London from the US was delayed because of snow and fog. The two men would miss their connecting flight to Nairobi. It looked like this set back would ruin their mission trip.

The two men stayed in the airport that night and was on a standby flight the next day. The only seats available were in first class, that good fortune would prove valuable.

As the jet took off and ascended to 36,000 feet, quickly everyone noticed that the jet was now descending at a very rapid pace.

Everyone was screaming, panic ensued. The two men were seated close to the cockpit and they heard a scuffle in the cockpit. They rushed to the cockpit door and opened it to see that the two pilots were trying to fight off a hijacker. The two men wrestled the hijacker and held him down while the pilots recovered the jet just seconds before hitting the ground.

Their trip may have looked bad to the two men at first, but to those on the British Airway flight, they were immensely thankful! Some of the things we encounter in life trip us up, slow us down, hold us back. But our attitude needs to be; nothing can keep me from fulfilling God’s purpose for my life unless I let my circumstances keep me down. I found I have two ways of handling negative circumstances; I control them and give them to God, or let them control me.

Prayer:
Lord, what I have seen as set backs in my life could have actually been for my good. That is hard to understand for some things, but I believe You have been at work in me all my life. Nothing happens without You knowing it is coming. Somethings that have set me back, have been because of my own bad choices, but I thank You for bringing me back to You!
