Jesus the Life Giver

John 11:25 ESV
“Jesus said to her (the Samaritan women at the well) “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live…”

Again Jesus said in John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, “I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John poeticly, but profoundly stated in John 1:4,
“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (ESV)

Jesus said of Himself, “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.  (those who are physically dead and spiritually dead)

Jesus also said, “For as the Father has life in Himself,  so He has granted the Son also to have life in Himself.”
(John 5:25,26 ESV)

To bring this subject of Jesus the Life Giver home for me; In my early 20’s I participated in a drama production called The Life-Giver. It was the story of the life of Jesus with some intense moments and a very revealing crucifixion scene, and of course His resurrection.

It was a full musical production with theater lights, orchestra, costumes and makeup. We performed for 7 nights leading up to Easter Sunday. It was emotional, exhilarating and powerful. The best part of the production was all 7 nights, at least 100 people gave their life to Jesus Christ. At the end of the week, over 700 people gave their life to Christ, or should I say, He gave them true life.

In this world we have tribulation, trials, troubles and hard times. Jesus said; “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10 ESV)

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, the Giver of Life, thank You, that in You is true life and eternal life. The people of this world live for themselves without true meaning or everlasting life. I pray, before it is too late that they will find true life and true meaning through You!
